Yeah, I do.
Like him or not, Floyd Mayweather Jr. had accomplished that many can only dream of. Floyd's success in boxing places him in boxing history as one of the greatest ever, if not the greatest ever. Floyd had beaten everyone thrown at him, shut his haters. There's only thing Floyd lacked and that's respect. This guy never got the respect he deserves despite all his wins and accomplishments.
I would place Floyd in my top 5 all time along with Ali, Tyson, Robinson, and Leonard. The fact that Floyd is undefeated and winning all his fights unanimously via wide margins, and his skills never eroded despite already 36 years old now says something. The fact he doesn't fight dirty and never got help from the cheers of Boxing Fans and never require help from boxing judges to win his matches say something. The fact he's already very rich, yet he never lost passion for the sport says something. Floyd truly deserves in Top 5 of all time.
Not a Chance. I like Mayweather a lot, and I wouldn't even put him as a top 5 welterweight all time. I would put Duran,Leonard,Hagler,Hearns, Sugar Ray Robinson easily all over him , and that's just welterweight. The only reason B Hop said this is because he's looking for a big pay day and wants him next.
I think its B Hop succumbing to peer pressure
Hard to not put Floyd top 5 when you're running with Floyd's camp and they're all proclaiming Floyd as "the best ever"...........Its almost a backstab if you're gonna be his boy, then not tow the company line of "TBE"
That being said, Floyd has a legit claim to being ranked as a top 5 ATG as well...Im not going to grudge anyone who puts him on that pedastal
HOWEVER
I'm not going to put him there unless he fights Pacquiao and beats him....I know hes beat young strong champions and all that....But unless you fight you're biggest STYLE rival and beat him....Im not putting him top 5
By style rival I mean, someone who has the style to beat your style.....Ali fought Frazier, and Norton and Foreman (At an age where Ali's movement and footwork was gone)...
All were fellow ATG's with the STYLE to beat his style...(Try and take out the most dangerous slugger in history without movement ala rope a dope)
Yet Ali beat still beat them.....Thats what champions do....defy the odds
Floyd fought good opposition and I put him top 10.....But only if hes beats Pacquiao, Ima put him top 5
No. There are just so many greats who're far greater than Floyd. My list goes:
1. Ali
2. Robinson
3. Louis
4. Armstrong
5. Duran
It's hard for me to think of 4 welterweights that can beat Floyd Mayweather ,especially after his masterful boxing clinic he put on versus Canelo so i would have to put him in my top 5 as well.
Floyd is an all time great, but he's not in my top 5.
Not in my top 1
I currently have him ranked at number 19 on my top 50 list. right underneath Julio Cesar Chavez
Does yours?
