Man, that is a tough question, you know what a huge Roy Jones Jr. fan I am, so being forced to admit Bernard Hopkins rates higher all time that Roy is difficult for me, still you have to give B-hop his due, it was an epic accomplishment. At middleweight B-hop was more dominant than all but Sugar Ray Robinson, and I have no problem putting Bernard ahead of Monzon, but still have trouble putting him ahead of Hagler. Bernard did far better at light heavyweight than most true light heavyweights but both Moore and Foster punched a lot harder than Bhop and Conn almost beat Joe Louis so it's tough to put him any higher than that at light heavy, but still that is amazing company to be mentioned in. Realistically I would have to put Bernard Hopkins in the top 25 all time, historically speaking he did more with fewer fights than just about anyone, how can you not put him that high.
I am going to honor this question with another....Name 25 fighters who are historically better than B-Hop.
He should have been in the top 50 I believe. It's tough to rank eras and different weight classes. He's one of the GOAT, but Ray Robinson is the consensus GOAT due to numerous factors. Walter Smith (SRR) was the best ever, but Hopkins probably could have beat him. That's the issue with different eras
Top 50 definitely! i thought he beat calzaghe, and i had him beating taylor in both fights, and i am not the only one., the man is simply amazing. the archie moore of our era. he has apparently outlasted manny pacquiao.
top 50-75
Not the best ever, but maybe top ten, depending...........
Nothing but repect from me. No more hate from this corner.
In 2006, Bert Sugar already had him in the top 100.
