Boxers, what is your experience of protein shakes?

protien is great for building muscle and sustsaining energy....from a physical standpoint

there are no boxing related benefits

if u work out and arent going to eat anything for 30 minutes or more, it is important to drink a protien shake

u should be getting enough protien from your regular diet, people drink the shakes as meal replacement or supplements

This reminds me of a quote by a boxing trainer on youtube talking about old school sit ups

"This aint nuthin but steak and eggs baby"

Ray Robinson didn't need no protien shakes

hello baldie , i've been training lately and have taken whey protein shakes some times for me i noticed that when i drank a shake after training i looked bigger the next day but when i didn't i looked trimmer ,so i would say if you want to trim down don't take them if you want to bulk up do take them .

i've been using creatine and that really seems to work for me when i take it before i train i seem to be able to train harder and longer

i trained with protein and found no difference after i stopped drinking protein, if your body is not getting enough protein then you should either look into eating more protein enriched foods (which is cheaper than buying protein) or just buying protein shakes. so i would say forget the protein

Shakes provide your protien needs, but leave you constantly hungry...

I know things like whey protein are bigger in body builder communities than boxing, but I've heard they can aid recovery time/heal muscles quicker and stuff like that.

What's your experience/knowledge of protein shakes for training?
