power would swing the fight his way as Holmes tries to keep the body punching Tyson under control
The winner by way of TKO in the 8th round
MIKE TYSON
Holmes by decision. I think Holmes is top 5 heavyweight of all time. The thing I like about him is that he is adaptable. He could fight any style boxer or brawler. He had the heart of a champion and was very underrated. The only thing he lacked was a great opponent. Mike Tyson could have been one of the all time greats. His loss to Douglas he was only 23 years of age. It was all downhill from there. Tyson had power speed and good skills early on then he became a one puncher in his later career. He did not do the things that propelled him to the top.
Tyson would have won by KO around 8 rounds or UD
Recall that Shavers and Tyson, hard to beat Holmes
Holmes with Shavers could recover, but against Tyson he could not have maintained beyond 8 rounds
Maybe Holmes could have reached the end of the fight the same way he did Tucker, it is likely
Young holmes vs young tyson i pick tyson
Sweet Science fans,
1988.
Larry Holmes was 38 (thirty eight!) years old in 1988 when he lost to Mike Tyson on January 22nd, 1988. Tyson was a spritely 22 years of age!
Holmes was born Nov 3rd 1949.
Q 1. WHO wins the 15 Round Heavyweight YOUTH REMATCH between:
Mike Tyson at 22 years old.
VERSUS
Larry Holmes at 24 years old.
REPEAT: Larry is aged 24 ?not 38?. Would Tyson have faced a different Larry with Holmes at 24?
