Arum- Pacquaio/Rios sold between 500,000-550,000?

The numbers seem really low. Manny pacquiao will need to fight quality opponents like a Bradley or Marquez to have higher numbers. Brandon rios was never a star and it led to a PPV failure.

that was held in China.. so everything is being pirate.. so it's not possible every house watch it for free , china pirating issue...

China even CLONED / copy the US war planeSTEALTH FIGHTER.. in war china will have it's advantages

the plane called J-31..

I think that is expected. Pac just came off a couple of losses, it's natural for some boxing 'fans' to lose interest.

Plus, the fight wasn't in the US. I wonder how many PPV buys other boxing stars get when they don't fight in the US? Is 500k + a good number? any help?

I figured they were low since nobody was touting numbers. However, when Macau was announced as the location I mentioned here that Top Rank saw a drastic drop in U.S. demand for Manny and was going to use that market as cover for it. The excuse started off as Manny wont fight in the U.S. anymore because of its high tax rate (bogus for those of us familiar with the tax code) and ended with Manny wanting to "develop" the Asian market.

Unfortunately, the sport of boxing in the U.S. isn't big enough anymore for fighters without a dedicated calling card to sustain losses. Tyson sold because he was a train wreck that tapped into race and culture in the U.S. and De La Hoya sold because he was an exotic heartthrob. Manny, nor Floyd for that matter, simply doesn't have that working for him and it will take a difficult rebuild to get it back unless he fights Floyd in April/May. The problem with fighting Floyd is if he loses, Top Rank's cash cow is gone.

because during that time pac deserves to get 40% +ppv dum dum...

law of supply and demand... now that pacs stock went down due to his recent losses, and really felt it like a slap on his face...maybe its a wake up call for him...

will you say 25? no no no, while cotto got 35???

just wait, its either he bounces back by fighting bradley while calling out floyd.. then fights broner and shouts “floyd miwiddah, you’re next!!” on the presscon... this is nothin, its just a tune up anyway, dude, they did it in macau, purely experimental!!!, now they know communist china will think 3x times before letting go of that $5 to watch a filipino boxer on their livingroom... these people got their mind poisoned by their govt to hate pinoys after the hostage incident in manila, the taiwanese fisherman,’s murder in the philippine water, the spratly and scarborough shoul territorial dispute... arum is a fool to think china will just love a brownman like pacquiao that easy... man, arum probabaly doent knows the chinese media are owned and run by the govt

I agree w/ Flash, I didn't even think it'd do this much.

Nobody knows who Rios is except for die hard fans, and we knew it was a get well win for Pac, so nobody was going to care much about this fight.

I thought it would do like 400K tops, I'm definitely surprised at this number.

Funny I just wrote something about this today no hearing anything about the ppv buys. This sounds a little high to me .

Bob Arum to thank for this...and Marquez...

Lol Ghazan, The bout was MADE IN CHINA. What do you expect?

umm thats still the biggest fight in boxing dont be stupid

Bad news Pac fans..pac-rios bombed at the box office...550,000 ppv buys are the worst s for pac's fight since..Pacquaio-Diaz in june 2008.

Yet pacquiao fans think he deserves AT LEAST 40% of the profit vs floyd.lol
