The Brits fought mostly at home or in Europe that's why many are not familiar with them in the USA and the rest of the world. But many of them are really bloody nasty chaps.
You have to look at the size of Great Britain which is no where near the size of America & they have more potential boxers than them which is worrying for America. Lennox Lewis beat everybody put out in front of him, Naseem was without doubt one of the most exciting entertainers in Boxing over the last 20 years. Froch is a great fighter aswell beat alot of top elite fighters apart from Ward. Brook is still raw and we are yet to see if he can make that leap to a top fighter. Amir Khan is in fight of the year candidates year after year regardless of your opinion on him. And theres so many more young boxers coming through its very exciting times for the UK right now.
British fighters nowadays ARE overrated, e.g.
-David Price (KOed by 40+ year old Thompson)
-Tyson Fury (keeps getting dropped by pillow punchers)
-Amir Khan (overrated in every way)
However British fighters of the past like Lennox Lewis were arguably underrated...
Not really i wouldnt say so, British Boxing dominated the 2012 olympics and i think Lewis was underrated tbh
boxing was founded and created by british fighters.
the yanks don't know how to box for there life..
i do and LL is on the top of my overated list but he was still better than the bum bros
they seem very well protected but overrated....also always seem to get the decisions....e.g. Calzahge, froch, brook, loads of other lower weights, fury...and take last week burns.....the two natural good fighters in lennox and hamed were actually made fun of!
