Just watched the Floyd-Cotto replay on cable TV last night and it appeared to me that Floyd has slipped and slowed down a bit. Floyd was also hit often by Cotto's left leads which bloodied his nose in the later rounds. His defense and evasive movements were also not as sharp although the pop in his punches remained through the waning rounds. When I first saw this fight on slightly delayed basis on free TV last year, I thought Floyd won it comfortably. But now it seemed to me that the bout was closer than my initial impression. Cotto outwitted and outlanded him in certain rounds.
If Guerrero studies that fight thoroughly, he will surely detect those flaws and chinks in Floyd's armor.
The question is can he improve on Cotto's performance in that fight? Can he impose the same type of a fight versus Floyd? Can he elicit the same healthy regard Floyd accorded Cotto during their fight?
If he can do those, I think he can pull an upset on May 4.
No. Guerrero had trouble against Andre Berto and had to fight dirty just to beat him. Berto is a decent fighter, but nowhere near the skills of Mayweather, so I gotta say that Guerrero would get his *** whooped as much as I really want to see Mayweather get pounded.
Funny how the other guy says guerrero fought dirty lol...now if mayweather fights him toe to toe like he said he would then and only then will guerrero have a chance
It will have similer aspects to the cotto the fight, he will have his moments but Floyd will come on top
