And here evidence http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...
I have no idea why everyone was on Donaire's nuts before this fight; yeh hes a good fighter and all, but he clearly lacks pure boxing skills. The truth is, he should be grateful to Rigo for giving him a Free Boxing Lesson.
The shoulder excuse was terrible, probably worse that David Haye's toe. "I could have won if I boxed, but I didn't want to be boring".... WOW... I don't think anything else needs to be said there.
EDIT:
If Kalambre is trying to make a case that Donaire actually won the fight, then that may have just made my day. Dayum!!! I knew he was onto Pacquiao's nuts hard, but this is on a whole new level now.
What's up bro?
I kind of knew that Guillermo Rigondeaux had good chance at winning the
fight and without a recent tune up, Rigo was supposed to fight Poonsawat
Kratingdaenggym back in December on the Donaire-Arce undercard and it
fell through because Poonsawat Kratingdaenggym failed his physical. That
wasn't Guillermo Rigondeaux fault Rigo stepped up to plate and rose to the
occasion. I am more disappointed in the fact that boxing writers and other
boxing observers aren't giving Guillermo Rigondeaux the credit he's due he
defeated Nonito Donarie via 12 round unanimous decision and now they are
saying that he wont see "high profile" fights because of this win? That's just
not right, Guillermo Rigondeaux deserves to see big fights he is the best at
Super Bantamweight and he should be next in line to fight Abner Mares. He
is the next best Cuban sensation, just like Joel Casamayor in his prime and
he isn't like Yuriorkis Gamboa who backs out of fights for example that fight
with Brandon Rios that was already being made. Guillermo Rigondeaux fights
with anyone put in front of him I wanna see him succeed get 20 or more wins
in fights before he retires from boxing, it's going to be messed up if everyone
is going to be avoiding Rigo. I doubt Donaire didn't study his opponent cause
he always prepares by watching old fight videos of his opponents to see their
strengths and their weaknesses. I just think Nonito Donaire "over looked" him
and thought this was going to be another win in the record books it was a very
careless mistake. They'll both be back though Rigo sooner than Flash Donaire.

Donaire couldnt have won that fight if two friends helped him, and one of the friends handed him a sledgehammer.
Im so sick of the "running" commentary on boxing. Im sorry but if you dont know how to use your feet, thats YOUR problem, not mine. Im not supposed to stand there and LET you beat on me. You are supposed to know how to cut off a ring and put me in place. You are the champion.
And the shoulder surgery thing? Gimme a break. You think he would have mentioned ALL those woes had he won???
Point blank, winners NEVER make excuses for winning. Not one time, never. Not ever.
Donaire got exposed. His footing is bad and he cant cut a ring off. If he can walk (forward) you down you are his, but if you have lateral movement at ALL he becomes lost.
If you really dont believe that, let me offer you something. This is one of the lowest punches thrown and landed fights Ive seen. But for as few as Rigo threw and landed...and he threw very little....DONAIRE THREW EVEN LESS.
It is difficult to lose with class and dignity, but that is a part of sports. When Ali lost to Frazier, he gained more support than his entire prior 30 plus win career and big mouth had ever got him. Hell just getting up from that left hook gained him more respect than most fighters get in a career, but the point is he lost like a champion and made no excuses. Losing well with honor and composure is part of greatness. Not everyone can do it, that is why it the great's were great and the rest of us are ordinary. Personally I understand the argument between runners and sluggers. I also understand what the difference between a runner and a boxer is, and boxing is a thing of beauty to me when I see it. Donaire got out boxed and should just have admitted it, the excuses were unnecessary, those who watched the fight saw what occurred.
He needs to blame himself, and stop making excuses. Im not the biggest fan of Rigo's style but he beat Donaire with simple tactics because Donaire was just simply one dimensional in this fight (lack of throwing to the body, and cutting the ring). Idk if it was the power if Rigo or speed but its obvious he didn't study or prepare for a fighter like this.
Donaire really has an ego, and he better get his ego in check. People keep bashing Pacquiao but at least he doesn't make excuses.
Also, I scored at least three rounds for Donaire. Go ahead and bash me but I still had Rigo winning, I really didn't like Lederman's card, idk HBO seems like they are switching bandwagons now.. I find it funny how they respect Rigo's style but laugh at Vazquez who practically fights the same way, he is just more awkward because of his height.
Yea I was very disappointed in Donaire when he said his shoulder needed a operation for three years. I Donaire does not have a lot of experience in losing but he would have made him self look at lot better if he had not said anything. All good fighters have big egos boxing g and winning is their only Identity so when they lose it destroys who they think they are .I remember a room mate of mine and stable mate Bobby Joe Young lost to a 16 year old Donald Curry in the National Golden Gloves Championships. When I went back to my room he had the door locked and would not let me in same keep in mind I had a fight coming up that same night. I told you this story because I have seen a lot of really great guys turn to some thing really ugly when they lose and some of them will fight you if you try to console them.It is never a good idea to talk to a fighter after he has lost.
I
I really hate hearing fighters especially ones that I like make excuses, I just hope Doniare matures and learns how to handle this in the future. Any one can be a good winner but being a humble and good looser is something different!
Fk is wrong with you Sticky? Rigo didn't school Donaire for fk sake. He was running away for his life.
When Rigo felt Donaire's power he ran like a byatch... Yes in the eyes of those s2pid judges Rigo won. But Donaire's bringing the fight to Rigo's azz. If Donaire opted to box, we must've been watching them staring each other for 12 rounds.lol
"I could have won if I boxed, but I didn't want to be boring"
That's the one I believe the most. He wanted the knockout bad and forgot to box.
when all you gotta do is wait how the fans will respond...
i can smell a rematch after this
I like Donaire, but his excuses after clearly losing to Rigo are pathetic and disappointing. I would've never thought Nonito would act like that.
There's nothing I hate more than when somebody says, "I'm not making excuses, BUT...".
For real, the vast amount of excuses is ridiculous sh*t.
- I've had a shoulder injury for three years.
- I got thumbed in the eye
- I deserved to win the fight and he ran (lol sore loser, you got schooled)
- I had trouble making weight (even though you've been there for a year and are soft at the weight)
- I could have won if I boxed, but I didn't want to be boring
- I should have won, Rigo deserved a draw at most
- I didn't get hurt in the last round, I was just sleeping.
For real? You lost man. Rigo outboxed you and took you to school, so just take the loss like a man and stop taking credit away.
