Do your road work... Interval training works best. Do sit ups with weights behind your head to strengthen your abs so that when you get hit to the body, it won't hurt. Do push ups to increase endurance and strength. Now to the fun stuff.... U gotta spar, then spar and spar some more. Learn how to throw a jab going forwards and backwards with the correct footwork. Also learn how to parry a jab and counter with a jab of your own. Have a few combinations like lead hand hook then cross. Don't feel down if u don't do good in sparring as its just sparring and your still learning. If your coaches ask you to spar, don't be scared as everyone else who is new to boxing is just as scared. Sparring is the best way to learn. If u have 2 pairs of gloves spar lightly at home with a friend but make sure it's controlled. You could possibly just do jab sparring because no matter wot people say, that's the most important punch. U can win a fight with just the jab. Believe me I know
1. hire an experienced trainer
2. follow a boxer's workout to the max

Get into a boxing club, start by learning as many moves and texhniques as you can, even the ones that pros use then you'll find your self comfortable with three or four combos ! THEN, thats when a true fighter starts getting creative and inventing his own style, unique and intelligent
Time yourself on a heavy bag and speed bag. Keep high intensity and go for 20 to 30 minutes, then go 1-3 minutes on speed bag non stop.
Go to a gym and train. Simple. You aint gonna learn at home.
Practice and lessons. That's the only way you'll get better.
