I think Andre ward is in a no win situation because he might become a victim of robbery by fighting in someone else's Hometown. Also, GGG camp confirmed they are not ready for Ward. It's a shame how he have to plead for fights that he will dominate.
I like Ward's skillset in the ring but sometimes his comments just confuse me. Not so long ago he was flirting with the idea of Chavez on PPV now he is blaming Carl Froch for cashing out against the same weak link he was talking about fighting before. I'm not in favour of Froch vs Chavez over Groves but these were Wards words.
Lets face it Golovkin knows that whooping is coming if he moves up and there are no interesting fighting for Ward. Groves is a good fight but he's basically locked in with a summer Froch rematch, Dirrel don't want it so the options are limited.
As others have already said, looks like it's time to move up Andre, Kovalev would no doubt want some of that Oakland action.
It would be a shame if Carl Froch beats him to it and invades the light heavyweights. That's very possible if Froch dispatches Groves in their rematch or beats Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. who is now campaigning at light heavyweights but fails to get a better-trems rematch against him (Ward).
He already beat all the top fighters @SMW so hes trying to milk his stay by fighting those easy opponents. He wont have to beg for fights if he moved up.
I think his trainer Virgil is very threatened by the LHWs like Kovalev, Pascal and Stevenson and he wants his meal ticket to stay at this dead weight class for as long as possible. Dont forget after he beat Froch he said he would never fight B Hop, now hes backtracking which proves ur point
In his last fight, he let his hands go plenty. It's Rigondeaux who needs to be more aggressive.
What I think Ward should do is move up in weight. I would lose respect for him if he fights Froch again or waits for Golovkin to move up in weight to fight him. Golovkin has not proven himself and Ward refuses to step out of his weight class. He should move up in weight and fight people like Kovalev, Stevenson, Pascal coming off the win against Bute. If he doesn't, he should definitely lose his #2 spot on the pound for pound list.
he should, a big fight on april is threatening his position in the p4p rankings...
He says he doesn't call people out but he's said that he would like to fight Froch Groves and GGG in the space of a month. This guy had need to let his hands go a little bit in order to get more opportunities, same with Rigo.
