First of all, it's never too late to follow your dreams. But you are only 16 years old! You have PLENTY of time to become whatever you want to be. Amateur boxing begins, as far as competing, at 11 years old, so you aren't that late of a beginner.
If you try hard enough, you can make anything happen. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I'm not saying that it will come or be easy. It is possibly going to be the most difficult thing you will have ever gone through. So I suggest you get started now and be ready to push yourself.
And you must understand that you have to learn the fundamentals of the sport before you are actually ready to play in a game. Well, that's even more true in boxing because it's not just a sport. You play sports, you don't play boxing. Tex Cobb once said, "If you screw up in tennis, it's 15-love. If you screw up in boxing, it's your a**". I say that, not to scare you, but to let you know how serious boxing is, and how serious you will need to take it if you decide to pursue it.
But if you want to do it, then go ahead and do it! You will know when you are ready, you just have to get started and be patient.
Also, there have been boxers that have not began their pro career until their late 20's, and still went on to become Champions. Jess Willard, a former Heavyweight Champion of the world, made his pro debut at the age of 27. Antonio Tarver, a former Light-Heavyweight Champion, made his pro debut when he was near 28. You are ONLY 16!! You have plenty of time. You may just have to work a little harder to catch up.
Also, to help you get started, I have listed some links below that I like to give new boxers to give you an idea of what you need to do and to give you a way to find gyms and trainers in your area.

The third link is a list of boxing gyms' contact information (addresses & phone numbers), by state and city, to help you find gyms in your area.
I hope this helps!!

You're not,i started training when I was 17.I now have 25 and I have 115 matches. So it's not too late, it is essential you have the desire ;-)
You get to be a world champion...
Only if you want...
;-)
You might be too young. Boxing will knock a few screws loose so you need your brain to be fully developed before you start.
no of course not... head down to your local gym asap! it may seem a little odd at first doing things like shadow boxing, but you'll grow to love it. remember, boxers aren't born, they're made so don't be discouraged ifit feels like you're no good
Not at all. If you're going to college, there will probably be a club that you can join.
I am 16 years old, going to be 17 in a few months, and I really start liking boxing a lot and I want to learn fighting, but I kind of think I'm too old to start now, am I?
