Am I a good boxer? Or not?

Yeah, you're a great boxer.

3 months of Taekwondo is *NOTHING*, okay? I've been training for almost three years, and trust me, people who've been taking TKD- no matter what their age- are klutzes when it comes to TKD until they've trained for at least a year and a half. Until then, you're too busy learning the basics.

Also, being a kickboxer (cross between boxing & martial arts), 1 month of training= nada. You need to be trained by somebody who knows what they're doing. Just because you roughed your elder brother up a bit doesn't make you that great, trust me.

And yes, before you say anything, I'm a 13 year old girl (5'5"). I know what I'm talking about, boy. You want to learn boxing, get somebody who knows what they're doing to train you. Honestly, though, I think you should do kickboxing/TKD because you can do those for life, while your chances of boxing as a career are slim.

well you definitley do not know how to "box" you need to at least attain the basics through a trainer. At 13 you would be at an early start, which is a good thing, but please get proffesional training, the fact that you have progressed on your own is unlikely to be a good thing because you will have developed bad habits. Your whole living room fight means nothing if you are considering getting into competative. And regardless of how many youtube videos you have watched, a trainer WILL make you start from the beggining. I have a year of competative boxing under my belt and I can tell you that you need to train hard and constant under an instructed who is certified to teach you the correct skills.

If you do get into amateur boxing good luck !!!

WHY in the hell would you wanna box? Every time I've seen a pro boxer on TV that is older, they slure their speech. It's caused by being hit in the head too many times. All boxing will do at your age is make you dumb for your entire adult hood.

One of the questions you should really ask on Yahoo Answers, did he let you win? To me being good at any sport or thing is not about skill level but how hard you try at the sport. Effort, faith, and determination in yourself makes you good not just skill.

No, you might think you know something but you don't. You need a real trainer you can't teach yourself. And I bet if you sparred with the average boxer they'd stomp you.

So I've been teaching myself how to box for a while now over the internet (yahoo, youtube etc.) and I'm 13 and a bit tall (5'9) and I asked my parents to buy me boxing gloves. They got me boxing gloves and my brother a pair too. He took taekwondo for about 3 months and I taught myself boxing for one month. By the way hes 5 years older than me, hes 18, anyways he asked me if I wanted to have a boxing match in the living room and I said okay. We started and my mom and dad watched, My brother tried hard to punch me good but I dodged a bit and gave him punches to the face and the body. A little bit of 1-2 punches. So I decided I wanted to let him punch me once but he got me four times and I got back at him by giving him a strong jab into the body then a hook to the side of his head and he almost fell. He said he had enough and he didn't remember me hitting him in the body, I don't know why I maybe hit him that hard? But later on I asked my mom if I had a good stance and form of punches, she said I have good fast and strong jabs and I have a strong left arm. I felt pretty good that I'm good at punching, but I don't know if I'm a good boxer, Do you guys think I'm a good boxer?
