1973 Ali was not in his prime. It can go either way by decision.
In both of their prime i'd go with Ali by UD in 12 rounds and maybe a ko in 15 rounds. Lewiss would have been 2 inches taller but Ali was way too mobile and fast for him. Lewis was a technical boxer and like joe louis he was very technical and accurate with hard punches but unlike Joe Louis; Lennox could be taken out of his game plan easily if you could frustrate him. Prime Ali frustrates anyone.
A prime Ali knocks Lewis out cold.
Even the 73, Ali beats Lewis
Depends on which Lewis showed up. A determined Lewis would have beat both Ali's via UD. Just too big with too much reach. But of course we have seen a lazy Lewis, so who really knows.
73-74 Ali outboxed both Norton and Frazier and knocked out George Foreman. I think he'd outsmart Lewis. Ali, at this point, was all about smarts and ring savvy. He'd employ all tricks - rope-a-dope, clinching and feigning - to outpoint his opponents.
even between these specific versions, ali wins by 6th round ko.
I'm probly gonna get hate for this but I think Lewis wins a UD.
