Your thoughts on Austin Trout?

Is he good, can he be great, did Alvarez get lucky? Your opinion on the former light middleweight camp.

hey Big Hench you fat f*ck i commented on one of your questions. Austin trout, a bum you say? 26-1 is a bum? Whats your boxing record you old fat piece of sh*t? Did you go mud wrestling piggy boy? with that fat gut. Austin Trout would punch YOU straight in your beer belly and you'd drop.

Hey Johnnie.

We can't quite answer if he'll be great or not yet this early in his career, but he is very good, and still one of the very best at 154 even after losing to Saul Alvarez. Austin Trout has great boxing skills. He was previously unbeaten with the record of 26-0 and upset Miguel Cotto in a decision win. He gave Alvarez a very close and tough fight with his boxing skills, and made Alvarez struggle.

Alvarez didn't get lucky. It was a very close fight, and Alvarez won because of his aggression and knocking Trout down in the 7th round (first time in Trout's career). I think after Alvarez faces Floyd Mayweather, win or lose, I think he should rematch Austin Trout.

Trout is a good fighter. He has good skill and he is smart. I think he lacked power to really dictate to Alvarez...it was a close fight, but a clearly deserved win for Alvarez. Trout probably learned much from that fight... He will probably be better for it. He can be good, I won't say great. He is likeable and a good ambassador of the sport.

Trout is somewhat still fishy to me. Sorry, but I still have my doubts. Before meeting and beating Miguel Cotto whom I suspect had another off night and had barely recovered from an earlier hard fight loss to Floyd Mayweather, Jr, the biggest names on his resume was one Delvin Rodriguez whose only claim to fame was a draw and win over Pawel Wolak but with losses to Rafal Jackewicz, Ashley Theopane and Isaac Hlatswayo and one Rigoberto Alvarez who had KO losses to Marco Antonio Rubio and Willaim Gare and barely beat Naburo Ishida.

Trout has to fight and beat the other big names in the talent-packed division before making another bid at the 154 lbs. title especially versus Floyd.

He's a good fighter with decent technical skills and a sharp jab. However, his lack of power was shown against Canelo.

I'd still say that he is at least in the top 5 at 154

the boy's a BUM! no strength, no power, just a jab and a set of chicken legs that he uses to run around the ring with.
