Ricky got beat by 2 rounds in my opinion. I'm a massive Ricky Burns fan but he got beat.
I'm so sick of this national out cry over this result though. It seems that every boxing expert and casual fans are proclaiming the death of boxing due to Ricky being given a draw. It was hardly the robbery of the century, it was a close fight that Beltran edged by a couple of rounds. That's it.
Why wasn't everyone piping up about Cloud vs Campillo, Murry vs Sturm, Alexander vs Kotelnik, Broner vs Ponce De Leon, Hatton vs Collazo, Alexander vs Matthysse, Helenius vs Chisora, Pacquiao vs Bradley, I could go on and on. All of these results were more controversial but nobody cared. It happens on British soil and suddenly boxing is finished!
Although he lost, for Ricky to even make it a close fight with a dislocated jaw for 10 rounds, 9 days after his wife had given birth following a 4 day labour is commendable.
Lesser fighters would have quit on their stool but Ricky fought through the pain to the end. A true warrior.

Burns was run ragged from the third round onwards -It's a disgrace to the sport that Beltran was robbed in front of a nation, live on television. Even the home crowd were stunned by the decision.

Ricky did well in the last couple of rounds, but during the middle stretch of that fight he was getting beat up and losing, not to mention he got laid out w/ a hook too.
Beltran got screwed IMO, definitely deserves a rematch.

Beltran got the short end of a close one. I am amazed that Ricky had such trouble with a fighter with just one punch. The left hook.
To become the champ you must beat the champion convincingly.
i missed the first 3 rounds but what i see burns got a hiding ,he was decked and hurt a couple of times .bad decision
