Would it be best for Pac to leave TR?

Definitely. TR really only has Provodnikov, Timmy Bradley, Rios, Marquez, Pac and Mike Alvarado as viable welterweights/junior-welterweights.

Compare that to Golden Boy, who has a DEEP roster from 140-147lb.

They have Floyd, Danny Garcia, Lucas Matthysse, Keith Thurman, Chino Maidana, Amir Khan, Shawn Porter, Adrien Broner, Lamont Peterson, Paulie Malignaggi, etc...

Many more opponents for a guy like Pac at Golden Boy. Besides Floyd and Pac, Timmy is definitely the best fighter out of everyone here (TR or GB), and I'd love to see him leave TR as well. I get why he re-signed w/ TR though, guaranteed big fight and big $$$.

It would be best for Manny at this later stage of his pro career to leave Top Rank and be a free lancer boxer that could fight the best that both Top Rank and Golden Boy promotions could offer. I agree that Manny's options of opponents within the Top Rank camp are limited. After Bradley and Marquez ( oh, no not again! ), he's only got Ruslan Provodnikov. There's no sense fighting Mike Alvaradao and a dream match versus Mikey Garcia is far off or could only just be a that, a dream.

Pac is getting good fights to date under TR so there is no need for him to leave. Its best for him to stay. But if Floyd signs a contract that he's fighting if Pac leaves TR, then why not?

There is no one after Bradley. Aside from Floyd, he has more options with Golden Boy. They also put together better cards. Top Rank just recycles fighters to sell them as if it's a new product. Hopefully he leaves after this year.

No! I don't know what fantasy world the other posters are living in, but this is a promoters game and leaving one that wants you is never as simple as oh my deal is up I'm done.

1. Top Rank would contest him signing with another promoter in court. At this point of his career no other promoter would be dumb enough to cover that legal expense and it could stretch on for well over a year.

2. Top Rank would immediately call in all loans made to Manny which would place him in an immediate cash flow problem. If he's 5 years younger another promoter would willingly buy the probable 7 to low 8 figure marker because of the revenue opportunity. At this point it's unlikely they would take on more than 25% of whatever the marker is with Top Rank.

3. Top Rank will report every violation of U.S. and Filipino law to the respective agencies. You don't want negative tax judgments when your career is coming to a close and he already has multimillion dollar cases pending with the taxing authorities of both countries.

Manny made his bed with Arum and by gosh he better lay in it the rest of his career or he will never recover. If you don't believe it's that cut throat go pull up articles covering how a jaded promoter let the government know Alfredo Angulo overstayed his visa and got him placed in a detention center.

Yes ,if he wants a chance to fight Mayweather because Mayweather and Bob Arum have bad blood.

Manny Pacquiao's contract with Top Rank expires at the end of 2014 ,that is when serious negotiations between Mayweather and Pacquiao will be made for a May 2nd ,2015 showdown ,just like Cotto did when his contract with Top Rank expired at the end of 2012 ,on to fight Floyd the following May of 2013.

pac is retiring, he only needs 1-2 more wins to once again pose threat to floyd p4p.. if after that, floyd wont fight him still, then its bye bye boxing for pac... if floyd says yes, then take your seat cus we got a trilogy b4 floyd retires next year

whats your question, really?

after Pac leaves arum.. Another BS Alibi from Floyd .. just to duck pacquiao..

packing Floyd fans.. didn't get it.. that their idol ain't fighting one of the best of this era boxer Pacquiao.

It would be best if Bob Arum got hit by a truck.

Let's not bring up anything about Pac vs Floyd please. Overall it seems like GB have more and better fighters at welterweight. After Pac vs Bradley 2 who's left for him to fight. The talk of Garcia moving up to fight him I think is years away, and fighting more fighters like Rios is a waste of time and my money to order. Is it best if he leaves TR at the end of the year when his contract is up.
