Would Floyd have lost if he fought in Delahoyas era?

If you feel like he almost beat him then you weren't watching the fight. It wasn't even a close fight. I watched it many times and I see De La Hoya missing the majority of his punches, with an exception of his jab which is the most effective punch against Mayweather. Cotto did the same thing and so a lot of people made it seem like a much closer fight than it actually was. De La Hoya clearly lost the fight and if you believe otherwise then you are a hater or blind.

Young Shane Mosley would probably not have beat him either. Sure he was fast and he had power but if you haven't learned by now it takes a lot more than that to beat Mayweather. Timing counters speed effectively and Mayweather is the best counter puncher in the sport. IT would be a much more competitive fight than their 2010 fight but Mayweather would likely just neutralize and take away Mosley's strengths. Mosley wouldn't necessarily land a clean right hand every time.

Chavez Sr. would get outboxed. He may be the greatest mexican fighter of all time but Marquez is a far better fighter than he is. Marquez would beat him as well. Mayweather would make him look so ordinary.

Camacho would not have out boxed him.

This is all the whole "if a modern era fighter fought in a previous era he would be destroyed" stop making excuses. Mayweather is the best, he has probably the best defense in the history of the sport if not one of the best, he is the most accurate puncher in compubox history while limiting his opponents to about an average of 16% connect rate,, his pure boxing skills are so good people are looking towards much higher weight classes because they know the only way to beat him is to put him in with a much bigger guy who might get lucky and land a punch.

Hard to say, a pre-Chavez Meldrick Taylor vs Floyd Mayweather Jr. would have been spectacular as would a prime Pernell Whitaker vs Floyd Jr. In both of these I think Floyd would have been the underdog. I think Floyd would have still been a slight favorite against Oscar and Chavez, A prime Camacho Sr. would have been an even money fight that could have went either way. Great question, very difficult to see how any of them would have turned out.

NO WAY.....

Floyd still would duck ODLH.lol

i suspect hoya bt him...corrales bt him...ortiz would have....

no one will ever know!!!

I feel like old Delahoya almost beat him, young one would,

young Shane Mosley would have defeintly knocked him out with that punch,

Pernell Whitaker would have beat him at his own game

Chavez would have KO him out like Meldrick Taylor

Camacho would have outboxed him

Meldrick Taylor would have left him bleeding.
