I was always putting Malinaggi down, I guess his brash trash talking turned me off him.. When he fought Hatton, I couldn't wait for the hitman to shut him up...
However, Malignaggi has proved that he is a skilful boxer, he may lack power, bet he certainly knows how to box. I had him beating Broner..??
Mayweather doesn't get many stoppages and nobody thinks any less of him.. Paulie is a thinking fighter, he is fast and can adapt as the fight goes on..
I am now a fan of the brash New Yorker, and can't wait to see him win another title..
Porter isn't a match for Malignaggi... Paulie wins this hands down!
I am beginning to believe that Paulie is the new Hector Camacho of this era when it comes to due underrated toughness, resilience and ring intelligence. He has been there with some of the best and toughest fighters and although he usually lost' he acquitted himself most of the times by hanging tough and giving all he had. He has been to hell and back so to speak. Some people may laugh at the idea of him tangling with the likes of Pacquiao or Floyd or Bradley but it is really not a laughing matter when you are up against somebody like Paulie who takes his craft very seriously despite his obvious limitations especially in the power area. He showed that against many fighters from cotto, Diaz down to senchenko and broner. Porter must take him very seriously or he may find himself crown less.
I got paulie too outboxing him and using his lateral movement. Paulie has some fast hands and Porter I'm not sold on yet. But Paulie has been in with a slugger before so I got him by UD.
Shawn Porter is simular to T Brad, i think it should be a good match.
First of all it's good to hear that Porter wasn't seriously injured in the car accident.
Anyway this fight has been confirmed for a while and nobody has asked about it so i'll just ask. Looks like most people see it as a mismatch hence the lack of interest but i'm predicting Mallignaggi will take the belt from Porter.
Porter is a little overrated imo. I was surprised that he beat Devon, that was a good win and a big upset but what is the big deal? a year ago it was 'Shawn who?'. It never ceases to amaze me how Khan gets stick for struggling to beat Diaz yet Porter went life and death drawing with Diaz before that in a fight many felt he lost. He beat Diaz decisively after Khan had softened him up. Other than that and Devon he has a limited resume.
To me Porter is just a poor mans Bradley which isn't necessarily a bad thing but in this particular matchup i see him getting thoroughly schooled. Plenty of physical strength but has to cut A LOT of weight with his former wrestling background, 5 ft 6 with short reach against the tall Mallignaggi who is one of the best at maintaining distance with his jab, is constantly overlooked because of his lack of power and won't be standing in the pocket like Devon who i felt let his ego get in the way after their history of sparring back when they were 9 or something. Not taking away from his upset win but i just think that's what happened.
Paulie grabs the IBF belt, remember i called it. Rant over.
