Basically did what Ali did. No defense whatsoever, but unlike Ali, he didn't dance around in the ring. He also had the tremendous chin that Ali had along with the physical body that is built to handle a lot of powerful blows.

Well as far as I know it's just a strategy to make the opponent tired and then he can knockout him.
