and experience as you can. i see some people wonder why floyd mayweather is so good but he has been boxin since he was a toddler and all those years of fighting when he was young gave him the skills and knowledge to become a flawless undefeated 7 or 8 time world champion.
Confidence.in most gyms all new boxers going into spar should be going in with a very good amatuer or a very experienced ex pro amatuer.
the reason for this is quite simple he shouldnt be throwing any punches at you he/she may put a hand out there but there easily dodged and if they do connect theres no power behind the punch so you will learn to walk through it rather than curl up and look away.
Also you wont be able to hurt this this person so dont worry if you do connect yourself its only there pride that will be damaged and there ears after getting a barracking from there mates.
Remember sparring isnt fighting its there for you to work things out and work on your ring-craft and learn agression so get your big 16oz gloves on and get in there once you cross over they ropes you will begin to learn why you hit those bags why you go running and why 3 minutes in a boxing ring can be the best minutes of your life good luck and tell us how you get on
It's not fun the first couple times, but you'll get more confortable in the ring afterwards.
thats how u learn.
I'm 13 and have been doing boxing for about 3 months now! I really want to spar for the first time but at the same time I don't. The trainer at the gym has encouraged me to spar and someone at the gym wants to spar me but he is quite good and i don't want to get embarrassed. Should i just spar him?xxx
