BQ: what sets Reyes apart from all other gloves?

I Shook up the World,

The most expensive gloves out there are not Reyes, but Winning, a brand from Japan costing almost twice as much as Reyes.

Reyes gloves are handmade in Mexico from select premium hides of leather the longer a sleaker design are a favorite of punchers as to where the padding is spread out throughout the length of the Glove

Sorry, I shook up the World, I stepped out for a bit. To further answer your question Sir, Winning is NOT expensive because the equipment is imported from Japan, hell there are literally millions of products imported from Japan almost daily. The reason why Winning is so expensive is two things actually one the earthquake which struck Japan a few years ago caused a lot of damage to one of the plants that make Winning boxing gloves and two Mr. Kazamichi in Rodendo Beach California is the only guy I know who represents Winning in the USA. Mr. Kazumichi is a good guy that will be more than happy to tell you about the latest Champion or Contender that went to his store to purchase Winning products. Mr. Kazumichi has the lock on the product in the USA. Sure you got the guy with the product on ebay, but Kazumichi is "The Guy"

The type of fighters that use Winning Gloves are the types that are usually "Big" punchers that are prone to hand injuries. Winning offers 6 layers of protection as opposed to Reyes and Grant gloves who use only 4. I have Lonsdale, Tuf Wear, Title, Windy, ADIDAS, Rival, Reyes, Grant and Winning Gloves at my gym, and let me tell you for the money Reyes is the most durable for the money next would be Grant in my opinion. I like the fit and feel of Winning but Reyes is the superior Glove.

I use both Cleto Reyes and Winning gloves, they are really made for different purposes.

What type of fighter do the Winnings suit? They are made with 'hand-protection' in mind, a lot of fighters use them exclusively for training since they provide the best protection for your hands of any glove i have ever worn. When you put them on it feels as if they were custom made for you, very comfortable, they feel light, clenching your fist feels natural. Comfort and Protection is how i would define them.

Why are the winnings so expensive? They are made in Japan for once, making the manufacture process very expensive, plus they use very high quality materials made to last you a very long time. Last time i checked, depending on the model & size they were around $250 - $350 US Dollars.

The Cleto Reyes might cost you around $180 US dollars, but back in México you can get them straight from the factory for half that price. They are known as puncher's gloves and with good reason, you can't get away with bad form on these gloves. They are also hand-made and made with the finest leather and the workmanship on them is a thing of beauty.

Send lestermount an email for more detail. If I recall he's the only resident expert on the craft of glove making in the forum and actually makes/sells his own product.

Are you planning to buy Cleyto Reyes ? Buy pro mex instead there the exact same thing . But like 75$ cheaper .
