Who would win, Mike Tyson or Muhammad Ali?

Well, take a look at the Ali - Patterson fight, Floyd Patterson was trained by the same trainer (Cus D'amato) and had extremely similar fighting styles so as long as Ali could pick at Tyson with his jab and not get caught on the ropes Ali would win by decision or a late stoppage as Tyson would most likely be out of gas in the later rounds.

Sorry Tyler, but Ali beat Foreman, so there goes the Liston argument.

We know for certain Ali would win this one easily. How?

1. Tyson ducked the old Foreman, never mind the young one.

Ali destroyed the prime Foreman.

2. Tyson, in his prime, struggled with James Smith. Why? Smith was an awkward fighter. Tyson had trouble with pure boxers (Douglas, who first beat him) and also awkward fighters like Smith. Ali was both awkward and a boxer. He was awkward because he was a ring general, and changed his style to suit the fight (rope-a-dope).

3. Because Tyson said so. He was asked this question, and he answered that "no one beats Ali". He explained that Ali is like a Tyrannosaurus that drags you into deep water and then drowns you.

I thought Tyson was a fine boxer, and certainly he ranks in the top fifty of all time. If D'Amato had not unfortunately passed away, and Rooney remained in the camp, I think Tyson would rank much higher. But he was still a great heavyweight.

The trouble is, Ali is top five for sure. Angelo Dundee said no one could beat Ali, and Ali said that prime for prime, the only worry he would have would be Marciano.

Ali anytime. The thing is, Mike Tyson, for all his strength, quickness and punching power, has a weak mind or psyche. He's impatient and got a bad temper, and Muhammad knew how to mess with weak minds. He'd taunt Tyson before the fight and get him real mind. Mike, in turn, wouldn't want nothing but "kill" Ali. The result? He'd lose his concentration and would go all out for a knockout. He'd suddenly forget that, despite his punching prowess, he's a skilled fighter who moved his head a lot, bobbed and weaved, used the jab and threw combinations. If that happens, Ali would just toy around with him until he tires out from throwing wild punches. Then, Ali would knock him out in the 8th or 9th round, just like what he did to George Foreman.

Muhammad Ali would win this. If both were at there best I think it would go like this. Ali would dazzle Tyson with his superior speed of hand and foot. He also would avoid the big bombs of Mighty Mike. Ali fought bigger punchers than Tyson i.e George Foreman Earnie Shavers and Joe Frazier with the left hook. Ali would confuse outhustle and out finesse Tyson. He would also have the advantage if the fight went into the later rounds. Tyson by the 10-12 rounds would be frustrated and out of gas. Now this would have to be Ali at his very best. The jab would be the deciding factor I do not think Tyson could get by it. Ali by a one sided unanimous decision.

Prime Ali beats the prime Tyson, if you look at how Tyson fought against tall, fast guys that he could not stop early you will see he did not do well in the later rounds.

Ali had a great chin and I doubt Tyson could tag him.

If Foreman could not knock him out then Tyson does not have a chance.

If Ali's shadow fell on Tyson it would crush Mike to death, You insult the memory of a great champion in comparing Muhammad Ali to a guy who quit on his stool against Kevin McBride. Ali fought ten rounds with a broken jaw against a murderous puncher like Norton, Mike quit against an old drunken Irishman who was pushing forty. It never ceases to amaze me how many people bought into the Tyson myth.

Maybe Tyson would bite his ear.

Boxer beats fighter 65-100% of the time.

Ali by UD

Hey you Ali fans out there, do you know what speaks for Tyson? I'll show you: Henry Cooper could knock down 60's Ali with a simple left hook. Tyson speed and power and left hook >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>... >>>Henry Cooper speed and power and left hook. ENOUGH SAID! And look at who Ali beat in the 60's: An old and washed up Sonny Liston, who even faked their second fight! A Cleveland Williams that got shot shortly before their fight and had an operation right before the fight. Plus: A washed up and old Archie Moore. Now, Tyson's opponents weren't better in the 80's, but at least everyone mocks Tyson, while ignoring Ali. BECAUSE ALI IS THE BOXER PROPHET!!!!!! As for the 70's Ali: Ali by UD, since neither Foreman nor Shavers could KO him and Tyson would run out of gas while trying it.

Who do you think would win out of the two legends, Iron Mike Tyson or Muhammad Ali? I believe that Tyson would be to strong for Ali if he was at his best and would probably knock out Ali in around 4th or 5th round. However i might be wrong. Ali might have done what he done to George Foreman or/and been to quick for him. Also do you think it would be a K.O T.K.O, or decision.
