At one point 'Sugar' Ray Leonard was as good as any one in boxing history with lateral movement and being able to stop on a dime and unleash a flurry of shots and just back to movement making it appear nearly effortless so was a prime version of Hector Camacho and Vinny Panziana was pretty-good too.
1) 'Sugar' Ray Leonard
2) Willie Pep
3) 'Sugar' Ray Robinson-though he didn't move his feet inside the boxing ring as often as Leonard his ability to when he wanted was possibly the best ever even better than Ali
4) Muhammad Ali pre exile there has never been a heavyweight before or since Ali/Clay that was faster and able to go from moving backward to setting down and throwing a power right hand in an instant
5) Vinney Panzinana-after he broke his neck in his fight with Gilbert Dele his foot work was phenomenal

Omg... Muhammad Ali, without a doubt. Ali had more ring intelligence than any boxer in history. And Ali had unbelievable speed and tenacity too. Movement would go to Mike Tyson, it wasn't intuitive movement.. but it was still great movement in his prime. And of course I'm only talking about heavyweights.
Hey Toughguy! Nice to see you!
I agree with Muhammad Ali. He is very intellegent in the ring, has great movement, and is very quick. I believe he can do whatever he wants in the ring.
Pernell Whitaker is one of the best defensive fighters of all time, so he has great ring movement.
Larry Holmes was great with moving with the jab, along with Ali
Thanks for the question!
Ali for one. Johanson for a another, Floyd Patterson, Sugar Ray Lenord, And the
Original Sugar Ray. Those come immediately to mind.
Hands down Roy Jones Jr.
Willie Pep is the epitome of a Ring General.
The way he worked the ring was truly amazing.
The 3 I would have said have already been said...Ali, Leonard and Mayweather
in my life time you have gotta list Hopkins.....i don't really consider Hpkins a "mover", but he takes EVERY opponent completley off their gameplan, and he is known to land illegal shots when the ref is out of sight, displaying a great sense of ring generalship
Floyd used to fight like that, but lateley he has employed more of a rope-a-dope style, picking certain spots of the ring to lay back and take punches....but he is a natural at backing up around the ring and feeding guys right hands while they follow him around
Juanma is good to. he knocked Pac senseless while he was backing up into the ropes.
With the ability to move from the outside to the inside and fight effectively either way using ring intelligence, movement, speed and tenacity.
Mayweather is all time best in boxing
