As of last night it was Thompson. boxrec had the details but today they are gone. Hope it still is. Maybe they are still ironing things out, or maybe Thompson is just out.
Thompson is still the rumor so that's my guess. We shall see.
I've heard a couple of reports that its Tony Thompson but these are unconfirmed. I don't like the idea of this fight but it would be quite a smart move. Thompson put himself back in the spotlight with his victory over Price so at the moment he is a heavyweight that people are talking about. A victory over Thompson would put Haye in a great position domestically, and if he could get a more impressive win against him that Wladimir did, people will start hyping up a rematch between Haye and Wladimir.
Personally, I'd like to see Haye fight Pulev or Povetkin. These are two of the top heavyweights out there and a good victory over either of them would be a real statement.
When he say a ranked opponent he probably mean Tony Grano.
I think it will be someone with a belt ,either Robert Helenius or Tomas Adamek.
I hope it's Cris Arreola but that's probably just wishful thinking. I've been wanting to see that fight for a while now.
