have it on the patio, plus it'll last longer because you wont be chucking it all in a huge fire

Im having a bonfire tonight with 10 friends but they all want to have a huge fire in the back but we have two old cars back there and its all muddy and the grass isn't cut around the fire. I don't know what to do should i have it back there or have the small one on my patio?
