First I think getting married on Valentines day is not a great idea,sure it's romantic and all that but what will happen in the future is if you want to do something special on your anniversary you will have to book it months in advance because it's valentines day.I also think that the best man and matron of honor should plan the parties and not the bride and groom and the parties should be separate.To me the fact that you want to have the parties together suggests that one or both of you has trust issues.

I strongly advise separate parties and let the best man and maid/matron of honor do the planning. That is their job, not your. They know you, and they will do a good job. Your job is planning the wedding. A bachelor/bacelorette party together is nonsense and it defeats the purpose of such a party. This does not mean you have to go hangover stupid on your party--I have charged the people who know you. It could mean deep sea fishing for the guys or shopping for the women; or it could be a raucous sex toy party for the women and the typical strip club scene for the guys. Let your friends decide. You have a lot of other stuff to do.

Some suggestions for bachelorette

rent a limo & do a wine tour. go to a few wineries & do wine tasting & go somewhere nice for lunch or dinner

go to a play & dinner

go out dancing

do a panting night ... look on groupon they have deals where local bars will host a night where your group can paint & have a few dinks

My boyfriend and I were talking about doing the bachelor and bachelorette parties together. Our wedding is Feb. 14 of next year so our party will be at the end of January. Anyone have any ideas? Give some that are just bachelorette partys and a mix of both. Please and Thank you
