Do you have a GFS near you? Buy a 5 pound bag of meatballs, and a can of Swedish meatball gravy. This will cost you around $15 (with 75 people, you may want to double the recipe). You can probably find the meatballs cheaper someplace else, but the gravy is SOOOO good. Stir in a 16 ounce tub of sour cream 30 minutes before serving, and it will taste more homemade.
Keep it simple with the sides:
Salad - just lettuce and maybe cherry tomatoes.
Dinner rolls
I would make cupcakes instead of a cake. That way, you'll be able to decorate them with different trinkets or colored frosting.
A really good appetizer is cucumber sandwiches:
You will need (single recipe... you may want to make more):
8 oz. cream cheese
1/4 c. sour cream
1 packet of Italian dressing dry mix (0.7 oz.)
Pumpernickel party bread (rye or sourdough will work, too)
Cucumbers - peeled and sliced thin
~Mix the cream cheese, sour cream, and dressing mix together until smooth.
~Spread the mixture on the party bread. Top with one or two slices of cucumber.
hi everyone. my sister and i are throwing my parents a 25th wedding anniversary and 60th bday party. my sister and i are on a budget and have to feed about 75 people. we want the cheapest options. i figured a giant salad bowl, about 3 or 4 appitizers and some chips and cake would work well... but now the question is what kind of cheap apps???
