In boxing males wear boxing shorts, boxing gloves and something like a rhobe. They also wear teeth guards, so that it can protect their teeths. Those are gears to wear in the ring when boxing your opponent. You have to knock that person out before you get knock out. When the referree knows your down, he will count to 10 and then the match will be over with. Sometimes boxers throw in a towel, I guess that means they quit or forfeit or whatever.

I'm 14, 5'11 and 135 pounds. I'm looking to bulk up and learn how to defend myself if I ever need to. Could someone tell me a bit about boxing? Are your feet used or only arms? What gear would I have to wear and how long would it take to get bigger and learn how to fight well? Also how hard is it?
