I dont know if i want a party or restaurent

Depends on your budget, your cooking skills, how much work you or your parents are willing to do, your friends, how many friends you are going to invite, and how much space you have for them.
Home: cheaper if you are paying for everything, more work and clean up, more freedom for spending more time together with your friends, and can provide your own entertainment, like music or a movie or games.
restaurant isn't tacky, it's just if it fits what you want to do. If your friends typically eat out, then most of them will come and are used to the expense.
It's really want you want. It's much more affordable to cook at home, restaurants are expensive.Personally,I don't like the idea of having a party at a restaurant and having guests pay for their food, tacky! If you're comfortable cooking,go for it or just have cake and ice cream, you don't need to have a full meal if you don't cook or if money is an issue. Or serve finger foods, the food is an important part of the party, but have games or other activities as well.
I am having a birthday in june and it probley be last week of may for the event
