You are going to have serve more than snacks at a party that is from 6-11. People will be expecting dinner. If your party starts at 6 and you work, that is not giving you much time to cook. Put out chips and dips for people to snack on and order in Pizza. Have the greens for a salad ready in the fridge. then just add some cherry tomatoes, cut up carrots, olives or what ever you like. Serve with Olive oil and Wine vinegar or bottled Italian dressing. If you can find the time to cook on Wednesday or Thursday, you can prepare baked ziti or lasagna instead of ordering in pizza, store it in the fridge and put it the oven to cook/heat as soon as you get home. This recipe will serve about 6, if served with a salad and some nice crispy bread.
Yes, keep it down. Apt. living is noisy enough and it only takes one person to make it all go wrong. You may want to place a note on the doors by your apt. below/top/beside etc with statement of you having a party, date, time and if it gets too loud to let you know.
