I think what we saw tonight is two boxers who are nowhere near A level. I can forgive Bute's performance a bit as he was coming back after his first defeat and over a year off, at a new weight, but Pascal's performance was not good at all. He had maybe 10 seconds of letting his hands go each round, and Because Bute was just feinting and flicking his jab out, this seemed to be enough in the judges eyes to nick the round.
Stevenson vs Pascal? this would be an average fight. I don't rate Stevenson highly and I think he will get beaten before long, but I think he would beat Pascal, who totally avoided Max Kellerman's question about fighting Stevenson, which tells us that he's in no hurry to fight him.
It would do big numbers in Canada, but I think Stevenson vs Hopkins or Kovalev would do big numbers too, so Stevenson doesn't have to just fight a fellow Canadian based boxer to make money.
Looks like the future of Canadian boxing isnt anything to get excited about. I think both Pascal and Stevenson will lose to Kovalev and Ward. BTW I dont think theres a lack of American boxing talent, there are some real promising up and comers that look like they have the goods
The Ring even ran a series on the Top 10 Best Fights held in Montreal. I could say that that original list is safe after tonight's fights especially the so-called main event between Bute and Pascal. I have seen more sanguine battles between to mate-starved walruses!
Baby that's what happens when all your sluggers dream of playing hockey and fall back on baseball. It's not by accident nobody "big" is actually from Canada, that country has two goals. Dominate international hockey competitions, and flood the NHL with talent. A country that size isn't going to have a great stable of home grown talent in the 4th or 5th sport. I bet lumberjacking has a bigger talent pipeline in Canada than boxing.
Got to give them hockey though, those guys dominate that almost better than the U.S. dominates basketball.
They are still more wealthy and have a better quality of living than every nation of neegars like you ;)

Canada had a golden opportunity to come in and fill the void left by the current lack of American boxing talent
but they have totally dropped the ball AND crapped the bed at the same time

Adonis Stevenson is a nice little fighter, but even he has already been bested by American journeyman Darnell Boone, of all people
