Marquez win = great fight could have been better if it weren't for KO
Manny pacquiao last 2 loses was not bad because he was robbed against Timothy bradley and Marquez landed a great punch.
I think Manny will be back on top if he redeem both of his loses.
Good question. The answer really depends on who you ask and your perception as well. Here's why
.
If it's possible, for the good of the sport, it might be a good idea to overlook the losses.
.
Bradley: Bradley's mother knows he lost that fight. However, a rematch is pointless. Its not because the result would be the same but because the result would be the same.
.
Doesn't make sense? It shouldn't. The point is that a rematch would likely be closer. I'm sure Bradley will do his homework and learn. However, because of the lopsided nature of the fight (I struggle to give Bradley more than 3 rounds), the fight will likely be closer in scoring.
.
However, SOMEONE up there likes Bradley and the result will likely be a points loss for Pacquiao, whether the decision is right or not. Why should Pacquiao risk it with nothing to gain?
.
The other reason it might be a good idea to overlook the losses is because people still want to see Pacquiao vs Mayweather. There are those who feel that Pacquiao has NO chance. There are others who still think that Mayweather fears Pacquiao. Neither is true.
.
Still, the majority of fans want to see the fight. Just as ratings and other status are often changed for the "good" of the sport, something should be done to make this fight happen. The losses Pacquiao suffered only slightly diminishes the interest in this fight.
.
Mayweather is still the number one draw in the sport. However, if you take a poll, I'm sure you'll find Pacquiao's name at the top of those people want to see Mayweather fight.
I think the loss to Bradley was worse. No, I don't think Bradley should've won. What I mean is Pacquiao's performance. He wasn't very active in that fight compared to his fights before or after that one. He looked less active in the Mosely and Bradley fights - complaining of leg cramps. He seemed to be better in the Marquez fight, and he was moving very well in the Rios fight for all 12 rounds. I think a rematch with Bradley would improve his chances in fighting Mayweather, after seeing how well Bradley outboxed Marquez. I'm not comparing Timothy to Floyd, but facing an actual boxer would prepare him better than Brandon "I'll Block All Your Punches With My Face" Rios.
Depends on what bad your referring to, bad as in ruining a potential fight with Mayweather? or Bad as far his legacy goes? As far as Legacy it certainly hurts for now, but if he were to knock out Marquez and beat Floyd Mayweather it might actually help in the long run. Ive always said and believe that greatness is the ability to over come adversity. Without adversity its hard to gauge the greatness of a fighter. Mayweather may be just to good for anybody, maybe nobody gives him that adversity and through no fault of his its hard to evaluate, myself I dont believe anybody is so good that no one can give them adversity I think a few years ago that guy was Pacquiao. Now what Pacquiao has is the chance to overcome adversity and if he can do it, avenge his loss and take out the Pretty Boy King Pin then I my opinion it makes him greater. And if he cant, then he will always be an exciting Icon and one of the great welterweights of all time, maybe top 10 maybe not.
As far as bad for a Floyd fight? I think it actually makes it realistic, Team Mayweather can now see the wear and tear and may be more likely to fight him now. The interest is still there although we would be getting the fight years after their best. Not as bad as Holyfield-Tyson but its getting there.
Of course the Bradley fight was a joke and the Marquez fight Pacquiaoas looking great until the knockout, the knockdown was a beautiful feint to the body hook up stairs but didnt hurt Pacman any.
The now iconic image of Pacquiao lying motionless on the canvas is going to cast a long shadow over his career. It's one thing if it had come at the hands of a bigger and younger champion, but the fact that it came against an aging and naturally smaller opponent who also happened to be his biggest rival, makes the loss that much more bitter. Let's also not forget that Pac's limitations as a boxer had been exposed in their third meeting when he escaped with a controversial decision. Don't get me wrong, I don't believe that ko loss will overshadow all his career accomplishments, because he's one of the best of this generation, but it did put things into perspective. Remember, before that fight some people were going so far as to question whether any welterweight in history was capable of beating him. Obviously, people are no longer asking that question.
Well the Bradley fight wasn't a defeat, no matter what it says on his record. The loss to Marquez is nothing to be ashamed of. Marquez was losing the fight before knocking Pacquiao out. Marquez came into the fight in the best condition he's ever been in, and there is no shame in losing to one of the best boxers of his generation.
He beat Bradley and Marquez made him a highlight reel moment after an all time great fight, so they weren't too bad. When all is said and done Manny Pacquiao's highlight video will be one of the best of any fighter in history.
Yep... We all know the first "loss" was a joke... But the 2nd saw him knocked down twice and put to sleep. If we are gonna say Maidana exposed Broner and that was suppose to be so bad, when he actually finished the fight, then Pacquiao was terrible...
If Mayweather being wobbled by Mosley was so bad, how bad was Marquez KO-ing Pacquiao?
Manny Pacquiao is a coward.........Timothy Bradley was a whole weight division below Manny Pacquiao when they fought.Thats why they gave him the win.Floyd on the another hand last fight he fought someone a whole weight division above him. Floyd was 151 pounds and his opponent was 160 a middle weight
Timothy Bradley win = gift
Marquez win = great fight could have been better if it weren't for KO
