Top 5 match ups for CANELO 154-160?

If Canelo is given the opportunity to challenge Miguel Cotto for the latter's middleweight title in his very next fight later this year or early next year and he wins that fight and the title, his horizon widens to include fights versus:

1. Floyd Mayweather ( rematch/title defense )---most lucrative

2.. Peter Quillin-Matt Korobov winner ( unification)---most possible

3. Gennady Golovkin (unification----not only will unify the titles but crown the winner as the one true middleweight champion)---possible but not likely.

4. Manny Pacquiao---possible but not likely because Pacquiao would not fight above 150 lbs. while Canelo would not fight below 154 lbs. in the eventuality to moves up to the middleweights.

Bunch of great options for Canelo, 154-160lb is pretty stacked.

My top five matchups (no order):

1. Gennady Golovkin

2. Miguel Cotto

3. Demetrius Andrade

4. James Kirkland

5. David Lemieux

Danny Jacobs is another guy that would fit in well.

For what it's worth, I don't really care for Peter Quillin and think he'd lose to all of the above, so that's the reason he's not on my list.

Obviously Grennady Golovkin is in the mix, that would be a great fight.

Much less fan appeal would be Miguel Cotto, age and a lot of hard fought wars make Cotto an underdog.

Pacquiao would be interesting, but again Manny has been in a lot of wars and is at the end of his storied career. Still, Pacquiao challenging for a 9th title at middleweight would make for a mega fight.

Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. would be a logical opponent for Canelo.

I have Peter Quillin at 31-0 and Felix Sturm at 39-4-2 in a tie for the fifth possible opponent.

1. Cotto

2. GGG

3. Kirkland

4. Andrade

5. Quillin
