Throwing a cocktail party?

Pool and cocktails are great combination for a good party:) As guests are arriving you won't have enough time to open all presents, so better find a place for them and open them later.

You can even (maybe just for beginning) have some beach music - I mean spanish, portuguese, cuban for example, some live music, instruments-to be in that beach island style. And after you can change it to -dj party.

You can prepare food, also in that style, little pieces of fish, maybe sth like sushi or fruit cakes- like a little pieces for snack, but that are prepared on for ex. banana leaves. And of course a big cake for all those people;)

I don't know about games, I don't like them) dancing is enough.

And about duration, well...It depends on when do you start. Is it going to be evening-night party, or earlier?...Here, those birth. parties usually starts at 22 up to 3,4;) but it's a pool party so maybe 19,20 to 00,01 is good..

Oh, and better cocktail tables and couches, to be more relaxed, less formal.

Just be relaxed, enjoy!!

Place: Hotel Pool side

People: 80-100 pax

Event: 18th Birthday

Theme: either travel or beach

So how do the flow of the party goes? like for the games and partying, drinking and blowing cake, wishes, opening of gifts. How do you do it? and for how long 3 hours or 4 hours?

what to serve? do i go with big tables and chairs or cocktail tables and couches?
