Make it a spa night- Do each other's hair and nails.
Have a fashion show.
Embellish your own flip flops- Get a cheap pair of flip flops for each person, some beads, jewels, flowers, ribbons, a glue gun and glue sticks, and make your own custom flip flops.
See if the hotel room has a refrigerator before you arrive. If it doesn't, take a small cooler and your own water or soda, so you can be self-sufficient the whole night without having to leave the room for drinks or anything.
Hotel parties are a blast! Yet, these parties, like most parties, tend to be especially successful the more things are offered in the way of both food and activities. Swimming in the indoor pool and watching movies is an excellent start. Here are some further embellishments, as well as additional ideas for activities:
Be sure to stock the room/suite ahead of time with plenty of drinks (including lots of the small bottled waters, as well as fizzy drinks, Vitamin waters etc.) You all will be digging in to these various drinks throughout your stay at the hotel...so you will need heaps of them. Also have plenty of paper plates and cups (for both hot and cold liquids) on hand. If no refrigerator is in the room(s), or they are too small, be sure to bring plenty of coolers to keep the drinks cold.
If you and your guests are going to stay up pretty late, be sure ahead of time to request a "late check-out" -- preferably no later than the time of check-in.
After swimming: shower and have supper/dinner. This can be as simple as having pizza delivered.
Or, if your hotel suite includes a kitchenette, you can make pasta. Serve with a green salad and drinks.
Swim again after supper/dinner. Make use of the hotel hot-tub, if they have one. If there is a game room, give each guest $2-3 worth of quarters with which to play around in there. Then come back to the room for cake, cookie cake, or cupcakes. If you have a kitchenette with a full-size refrigerator and freezer, you can also serve ice cream.
Paint each other's nails, and have everyone do their (or each other's) hair and make-up. (If you have a relative or close family friend who is a make-up artist or a Mary Kay Consultant, consider having them come to do everyone's makeup. Maybe have their "colours done" as well.) Then have photo-shoots, both individually and as a group. Use everyone's cellphones and any cameras on hand. Post the photos on Facebook, if you like.
If you want to play a game at this point, play Charades -- BUT! Instead of the usual cards, make up cards ahead of time of people you all know from school -- the principal/headmaster, teachers, other students. Just be sure not to select people others pick on a lot (you don't want to be mean). This game can be a riot!
When things are winding down, it's time for the movie. Consider some of the classic chick flicks they may not yet have seen (such as Mystic Pizza, Dirty Dancing, Grease [the 1978 version is the best], Pretty Woman, Sleepless in Seattle, You've Got Mail, Titanic, Sixteen Candles, and even Breakfast at Tiffany's.) Make popcorn and/or offer other snacks (M&M's, chips, drinks, movie-size boxes of candy and chocolate bars) and drinks. Just be sure to have *plenty* of it all.
Other late night -- or middle-of-the-night -- snack idea: Make s'mores in the microwave.
Breakfast: Even if the hotel has a free breakfast buffet, it may not be adequate or to everyone's liking. Have a parent deliver a big box of freshly-made doughnuts OR bagels and cream cheese. Hot chocolate for everyone would be a bonus. (Otherwise, make instant hot chocolate in the room by heating water in the coffee maker. It may take a couple of full heatings to accommodate all 8 people.)
Have another swim, if you like, after breakfast, before having to check out.

P.S. For 8 people, a standard room likely will be too small. See if you can get a 2-Bedroom Suite, or 2 adjoining rooms for your guests. (Your mom can still be in a room near by.)
Happy Birthday, and have fun!
You guys should go to the spa in the lobby if they have one
My 14th birthday is coming up and I'm going shopping and then sleeping over at a hotel. We'll go swimming in the indoor pool and watch movies but I don't know what else to do that doesn't disturb the guests or leave the hotel. Nothing inappropriate please! It'll be 7 girls plus me so 8 total and my mom will be in a room near by. Keep in mind that everyone is 13-14 years old. Thanks in advance!!
