Surprise Party Get Dad Out of House Ideas?

Maybe one of his friends who is invited to the party can help with this.

He is going to know instantly that something is up if you normally don't hang out with him in any way.

Getting a friend of his to pick him and to go looking at hunting gear, or something like that would be great.

I know most Dad's love feeling like they are needed, especially by their daughters. Is there anything you might need his help with? Here are some more ramblings:

Take him out to breakfast, somewhere far, because it's your favorite of course ;) A buffet is even better because you can keep coming back for more.. a little bit at a time, to really stretch the time.

Then during breakfast confess that you took him out because you need his help. You want to check out some car dealerships (not sure of their hours exactly). Or maybe a college nearby. Trying to think of things you might want to bring your Dad with.

Does he like yard sales? Maybe you want to find something in particular. Does he like to hike?

You could say you and your mom had a fight last night, or this morning, and just want some time out of the house to cool off. Or Mom thinks we don't spend enough time together, silly Mom. Let's get breakfast, movies, miniature golf? I don't know.

Oh, but then you forgot your phone at the breakfast place...have to drive back. Oops wait, here it is along. (That's another 10min or so).

You should take him to breakfast, then when y'all are done go to a motorcycle store if he likes them. If he doesn't like them you could take him to the mall and go to stores he likes. Or take him to get a hair cut if be wants one;)

Okay. So I need some idea or way I can get my dad out of the house for a surprise retirement party were throwing him (he's retiring from the military). The party starts at 12:30pm and my mom wants to start cooking around 8am. I'm a girl and eighteen so I can't really do any guy stuff with him which makes this a whole lot harder. So I have to find something for dad and I to do for four hours. The movie theaters don't start showing movies till around 10am so seeing a movie isn't an option. I was thinking about saying i'd treat him to breakfast, but it would only take us a little bit to eat. Other than breakfast I got nothing! The nearest town is thirty minutes away, so technically if you subtract driving I just need something to occupy us for three hours. Any ideas? Any thing would help!
