Should I spar my best friend?

Yeah you should, no amount of bag work or shadow boxing will give the experience like actual sparring does. I've veen training MMA for a while and I spar my friends all the time. We usually agree before the session what percentage of power to use. Sometimes we take it easy, other days we go all out. Regardless, what happens in the ring never affects our relationship out of it. It's a great way for your friend and yourself to learn from each other and progress.

Yeah definitely! If anything you might strengthen the friendship. Just remember it's a sport and when you're sparring you're not trying to kill each other haha

No. If u want to spar someone, do it in a controlled environment.

IMO, no...........let him join the gym and progress through the right way and spar with those of equal talent and weight.

So I've been boxing for about a year and a half now and I have a friend who's been doing it for a while by himself. He doesn't have any sparring partners so all he can do is bag work and shadowbox. He wants me to spar but I avoid sparring out of class. He's a bit bigger than me and I'm not sure if he's one of those guys that goes 100% all the time. I don't want us to end up fighting for real and ******* up our friendship. Should I spar him?
