Though Marciano fought already in the modern era of boxing, his approach and style was essentially classical or pre-modern as Baer, the main difference being he fought in a defensive crouching manner while Baer in his characteristic stand-up poise. Baer was a master boxer but his old-time fighting pose made him vulnerable against modern heavyweight as Joe Louis. And Louis was even flat-footed and not as mobile and energetic as Marciano.
I think Marciano will also exploit that flaw in Baer's fighting poise to time and again connect with his power punches and force a knockout in the first four rounds.
Charles was a better boxer than Baer who relied too much on his big right hand, which failed him when he lost the championship.
I don't see Marciano having as much trouble with Baer as he did with Charles or Louis.
Marciano out works Baer who was not always in the best of shape for his fights, and Rocky wins the decision.
Marciano almost killed Carmine Vingo in the ring. His face was full of blood. Baer stood 6ft 2.5in, while Vingo stood 6ft 4in. This shows us, that Marciano was able to destroy much larger fighter. Baer was a bum, even his trainer said that to him, LOL! After Baer beat Carnera he went to his trainer and said: Do you still think, I'm a bum? And his trainer responded: Yes. Carnera is just the bigger bum than you, LOL! Baers best advantage would be power and chin. Here's the comparison:
Marciano Baer
Power: 95 96
Speed: 75 70
Chin: 80 90
Footwork: 65(compared to other fighters of the 50's) 60
Defense: 90(very overrated) 40
Stamina: 100 50
As you can see, Baer's defense was awful. He hit harder than Marciano and had a harder chin.
Here's how I see the fight:
Marciano would after the bell rang coming in, as close as possible to Baer. Baer would try to hit him, but Rocky can escape his punches. After being close enough, Rocky would push him to the robes(Rocky punched a self made 300 pounds bag, so he could move 200 lbs boxers, and Baer weighed around 190 lbs). After being at the robes, Rocky would non-stop throwing punches against Baer. Baer wouldn't be able to counter, because Rocky would stand so much close to him, that because of his reach he wouldn't be able to strike out. Every round, Rocky would do the same. Baer starts to tire out and his chin would start to lack. Rocky knocks him out with his Suzy Q(thunderous right).

Archie Moore dropped Rocky.
Ezzard Charles almost tko Rocky on cuts.
What would a BIG, heavy punching heavyweight to do Rocky?
Rocky had a work rate advantage but I feel like Baers power would neutralize it.
Baer was also 6'3'' & had a whopping reach of 81''.
Rocky was a mere 5'11'' tall & had a reach of only 68''.
Could Rocky overcome the size disadvantage and monstrous power?
Thoughts??
