talk about a fight that happened just a tad bit too late.....
this could have been a megafight a couple years back, and could have catapulted Canada into the sports world limelight
both fighters have since been exposed as nothing more than Canadian Bacon bits
of course, stylistaclly, this could still be a great matchup, but when its all said an done, where does the winner really go from here? the next Ward or Stevenson victim? a rematch with the rapidly declining Froch?
as for my predictions?
well, this is a tough one. physically, and may be mentally, Bute is probably the more damaged fighter....and its hard to imagine him recovering enough to come back and fight at a world class level, and lets not forget this dude is already i his mid 30s
but i have long had a theory that fighters who tangle with Hopkins in their prime are pretty much damaged goods from that point on....
it happened to Trinidad, it happened to Taylor (despite picking up the W), happened to Tarver, happened to Pavlik, and it happened to Pascal (2X)
so the jury is out on both these guys....i will go out on a limb, and say with all the pride of Canada on the line, Bute pulls out a disputable Decision Win
