What kind of party would make this much easier unless I know what its for I cant help much heres some advice
Use bright decorations to create a happy enviroment like blue and red
For food have hor douvres like finger food wings meat sticks and crackers with cheese
It depends on what all of you are into? You said you're throwing a house party so that sounds more like a straight partay! If it's just gonna be drinking and shooting the breeze or what now then don't go all out, people won't care as much you think they do. Maybe just hit Walmart and grab some streamers (they're very inexpensive) and drape them all over the ceiling and around the house, but grab several rolls because they don't go super far. You can also pick up a disposable helium tank in the party section by the card section. It costs $19.50 for the tank. It's in a big pink box, you can't miss it. And it already comes with 30 multi-colored balloons in with the helium tank so you can fill them, put some in the yard (unless you live in an apartment), and just tie them all over (buy some ribbon to tie to them. You could probably get all that for less than about $35. These are affordable and they go a long way so it will look like you did a lot but you really didn't. Plus, if there's any helium left in the tank after you fill the balloons, you can fun talking funny.
