JMM is a GREAT, highly skilled and surefire first ballot hall of famer.
If JMM was a natural welterweight then I'd give him a decent chance to win against DLH, but he's not nearly as big as DLH. Plus DLH was a hard hitting/versailte dude, had a very good jab and a GREAT chin.
The fight would be competitive and exciting, but DLH would win a clear decision and score a couple of knockdowns along the way.
Leonard would completely school Marquez. The fight would be uncompetitive. and I SRL scores a late KO.
Against Duran at 130lb? Well, Duran was at his best at lightweight, but I doubt the weigh will make a difference. Duran was a dog and would've dished out a bunch of punishment on JuanMA.
Marquez would be screwed in this fight. Duran will beat him in every area, so since JMM is a warrior the fight would be good, but at the end of the day Marquez would get beaten into submission.
Duran vs Whitaker is a GREAT fight. One of the all-time greatest fantasy matchups. I favor Sweet Pea here, b/c as history has shown Duran has had trouble with pure boxers who know how to use the ring and box with discipline.
I won't make a pick here, it's a 50-50 fight, but I think Sweet Pea would outbox and frustrate Duran en route to a close and competitive majority decision.
Marquez vs Arguello is a BEAUTIFUL fight. I favor Duran for sure, and I think he'd most definitely win, but Arguello was a long/hard hitting guy w/ a great chin and sh*tload of power.
Duran would've been too cagey and smart with him though. I think it'd look like Arguello's first fight w/ Aaron Pryor. Both guys engaging in a great fight and taking punishment, but Duran (being the gorilla that he is) eventually taking over and forcing Arguello into submission.
Great list of fights though Ramim, all of them would've been epic fights!
Duran and Whitaker were career 135+ pound fighters. At 130, Marquez would have the advantage mainly because it's his natural weight class, whereas those two were either too green or would have to struggled to make weight. Arguello at 135 would be a toss up imho. I'd give a slight edge to the Nicaraguan, but not by much.
At 147, prime Leonard and Oscar would obviously be favorites as that was their best weight class, whereas it represents Marquez's fifth division at the tail end of his career. I'd pick a 40 year old Marquez over a 40 year old De LaHoya or Leonard though, haha. (He'd definitely beat the version of De LaHoya that fought Manny)
Marquez vs
De La Hoya @ 147 ; De La Hoya decision
Duran @ 130 ; Duran by early KO
Whitaker @ 130 ; Whitaker by decision
Arguello @ 135 ; Arguello by late KO
I really like Marquez. But, these guys were probably too good for him. Duran would outclass him (plain and simple), Whitaker would outbox him (Marquez is better vs aggressor), ODLH would outclass him, and Arguello would outslug him.
Just my opinion.
EDIT: Forgot Leanord. Leanord would destroy him and KO him.
I'm assuming primes
Vs DLH he'd lose a decision. Too tall and lengthy a prime DLH was a killer.
He'd beat Leonard by TKo in the later rounds
At 130 Duran by decision
He'd beat Whitaker by SP
He'd beat Arguello by a close UD or SP
