Legality of homeowner if it is a BYOB party?

If a homeowner has an Open House for a new home and it is a Bring Your Own Booze, would the homeowner be liable if guests has wreck and injures someone after leaving their house?

Arlene - probably yes. Check with your insurance provider. Your best strategy is to collect keys and do not allow guest to drive if they are intoxicated. Of course if you are intoxicated you will not be able to judge the intoxication level of your guest.

Good luck

a lawyer would take the case, but the case would be easier to win if the homeowner was providing and serving the alcohol.

Yes. Absolutely. You are responsible for your guests safety.
