the rules are not very complicated possibly with e sole exception of the FIFA drafted offside rule
it doesn't require great skill to play in a knockabout. Undoubtedly skill, talent and co ordination help.
as a gmae it sihoudl eb self policing, although sadly far to often the professionals tend to ignore that if they think / know they can get away with something.
the only poissible downsiodes I can see are it may require a high level of fitness, if you are coming from such a level and are carefull about stretches before and after playing you'll be fine. its not however something Id recommend for someone on a very low level of fitness. perhaps after some 6..12 months exercises building up to playing football
if you want to play rugby, then consider playing something like touch rugby, a local rugby club should be able to help you. Aside from a few positions there's precious little skill required in Rugby so providing you can run around you can probably get a game
Might as well try, right? Quitting is not the answer. That's the first step to winning in Football. The basic rules/objective in football are; The beginning coin toss is determined so that the away team picks heads or tails, if let's say the home team wins the toss, they say we'll take the ball. That means that they get the ball for the kickoff/start of the game, and the away team gets to pick which way they will be defending, so right there if there is any wind. They will use it to there advantage. Most common penaltys in football; Clipping-Which is when you dive at someone's knees to block them(that's how many players break there knee cap),Offsides-When either team player on the field is behind the line of scrimmage before the snap. Defensive interference-Which is when the corner back or defender is holding onto the offensive receiver beyond 5 yards of the line of scrimmage. False start- When the offensive team of 11 men, has someone flinch to make the defenders jump(the offense is supposed to be perfectly still unless the quarterback audibles (changes formations) during the play. Holding-Which is when the offensive blocker is holding onto the defenders jersey or wrapped his arms around the defender. Delay of game- Which is when the offensive team is attacking and the 'play clock' runs out. Roughing the Quarterback- When you hit the QB late after he released the ball. Roughing th kicker-When you hit the kicker late. Too many men on the field-Which is when you have more than 11 men in the field after the play is snapped. That's the basic stuff. Also, in football, you MUST wear a mouthpiece, helmet(at all times while on the field), shoulder pads, rib guard(if wanted), thigh pads, and in high school football you cannot wear a dark visor on your helmet. Football is all about teamwork, without it, your team will lose and lose badly. You can do this. Just remember, have fun!
Exactly what she said... No matter what age anyone can do sports, if u really get into It I recommend getting into a sports centre and dw if u don't know what to do, like me when I didn't know what rugby was back when I was 11 I just watched everyone else after playing for a while, and now guess what... I know every single step so don't give up carry on and Good Luck Tom!
No its not, why set a limitation because of age. I was in my early 30's when I took up kick boxing! Give it a try, everyone starts some where and the more you do sport your confidence in your self will grow.
No matter what's your age, exercise is always good, so if not for the game, sports will not be late.
now go for it dont do it you may like it
I never played football or rugby as a kid. I really hated team sports, and avoided PE lessons as much as possible. Now in my early 30s, i really fancy playing football or rugby, nothing serious, just a bit of fun. But feel a bit dumb because i wouldn't really now what as i was doing. Am i too late to start either of these sports, or should i just forget it?
