is nascar a sport... yes or no and why
'Sport' definition:
An activity involving physical exertion and skill in which an individual or team competes against another or others.
So yes, cheerleading and NASCAR are sports.
TECHNICALLY high school cheerleading is NOT a sport because the primary function of the squad is not a game/competition per se. but high schools count it as a sport and participants fundraise, letter, ect. Cheerleading was created to support men's team (in the olden days hahah) but now there are competitions so it is a sport.
if your talking about competitive then it is absolutely a sport because their own goal is to compete. it is as much as a sport as gymnastics.
i dont consider nascar a sport lol but i guess it is because they compete
Based on the actual definition:
Competitive cheerleading: a sport
NASCAR: because driving a car doesn't cause 'physical exertion', I would say no. It is a competitive activity.
i personally think only cheerleading should be considered a sport, although by definition they are both sports, i don't really think nascar is a sport at all
