Boxing is absolutely great excersise, if you use it right. Just fighting for 5 minutes can wear you out, the amount of physical abuse you have to take is astonishing. Boxing is a complete workout, in and out the ring. When you're not fighting or training, you're training mentally. So much of boxing is physiological and mental, not just physical. You have to be prepared mentally, to face the punches you're about to take, to the punishment you will be about to take, to the damage you will about to do, and just in general. Boxing is just as mental as it is physical. If you don't go into a match with the right mindset, it might cost you no matter how strong or fast or both you are. Boxing is one of the toughest sports, and only so many people can handle the intense hours at the gym, the mental and physiological stress that comes from taking so much abuse and you have to be in top shape to even consider becoming a professional boxer. Boxing is an art and one of the greatest sports known to man. Physically, it's brutal and will wear you out day after day. But mentally, you will be destroyed unless you have the confidence and the right mindset.
Yes absolutely. Boxing is a great cardio workout. You can practice your punches and footwork. Try this stand in front of the mirror and just throw punches. If you are not use to it you will get tired quickly. Now imagine fighting someone were you have to hit without being hit. You also have to duck bob weave and land your own punches.
Definitely a great exercise. It's a great cardio workout, especially if you'd time your workouts like boxers do, that is 3 minute rounds with a minute interval in between. It also strengthens and firms up your arms and shoulders, and even your legs if you are constantly bouncing and moving around the bag.
Its a great exercise u ever seen boxers thier in shape and thier cardio is crazy
No
I just bought a punching bag and was wondering, is boxing good exercise? Why or why not? Thanks!
