Is boxing constructive street fighting?

No MMA is more constructive street fighting. Boxing is science. Boxer and a street fighter are nothing alike at all. And no I've never seen a street fighter bob and weave and throw punches like a boxer ever. And by what you're saying you're trying to say boxing is easy and any guy could imitate it. Well you're dead wrong. Boxing is easily the toughest sport in the world. The average boxer vs the best street fighter, the boxer would win hands down.

There is no comparison.

Combat sports, despite the hype (i.e. "ultimate fighting"), are sporting events, not real fighting.

In a sporting event, great care is taken to ensure that the athletes are protected, as far as is currently fashionable, from injury or death. There are ring physicians, pre-fight medical exams, a referee that has absolute authority in the ring, and corner support that can deal with cuts, mouthpieces, and capitulate the fight at any time.

The athletes are carefully trained, and managed to ensure an even matching of expertise, and of course weight category

Compare that to a street brawl.

There is no referee and no rules, so of course, there is no safety. There is also no agreement on engagement, and so the possibility of either party pressing charges is real. Since most brawls involve either intoxication or criminal intent, skill is not on the menu. Drunks swing wildly, and criminals hit from behind, preferably with a blunt weapon.

So, other than communities that have organized street fight competitions (i.e. Irish boxing) with rules and group judging, street fights are not going to attract serious athletes.

In fact, most athletes who are trained stay away from real fighting like the plague. It is too risky, and the legal reality can lead to jail or suspension from the sport.

The dangerous street fighters (i.e. criminals) would beat any trained fighter. Their weapon is surprise....the sucker punch, the group attack, the bottle from behind......no one beats that. And jail is full of these guys, because that's where they end up.

In terms of skill, take any street brawler and put them in a boxing ring, even with a good amateur, and the boxer will take them to school with proper conditioning and training.

In other words, Mike Tyson would not have won any titles as a street thug....it was his training and conditioning that made him as boxer.

You obviously are clueless to 'the sweet science' not only is boxing called a science but because of people like yourself that have no clue of the strategy and skill that is involved in boxing only see two see two people in the boxing ring aimlessly swinging punches at each other boxing has a real fan base of loyal enthusiastic intelligent fans that see the actual 'science' inside the boxing ring that takes place.

Boxer beats fighters 65% of the time. Period.

Boxing has rules regarding the actual fighting. It also has medically trained people present.

yes

If boxing is constructive street fighting then that means there is no difference between a boxer and a street fighter aka untrained fighter. The reason why I say this is because some street brawlers can control there breathing just like boxers. They can punch dodge punches and do technical things like boxers I bet you if you see a boxer and brawler fight you couldnt tell the difference because they can throw punches like boxers to so really whats the difference if boxing just constructive street fighting then that means there really is no technique its just they have more cardio and stamina and its rules. Besides there are natural born street brawlers anyway so really whats the difference how can you tell the difference please tell me?
