Cotto is the middleweight champ, and the belts that the alphabet sanctioning bodies award are pretty much meaningless. Stick and Move nailed this one, Cotto is the man who beat the man, historical lineage has more credibility than the criminals who manipulate the boxing business. Cotto is a class act, odds are good we will see him fight GGG within the year, and then there will be no doubt or argument as to who is the true middleweight champ.

Golovkin doesn't really hold and title of any meaning.
His only claim to a title is that in a world of multiple world champions, there has to be some "champs" who aren't actually the champ.
