As for your question, Danny Garcia has a chance because he has power which will always give a boxer a chance. Garcia hasn't impressed me on his way to the top of the division. He arguably got beat by Ashley Theophane and then beat a succession of old men in Nate Campbell, Kendal Holt and Erik Morales, to make his name. When Garcia beat Khan, he was getting schooled by Khan until he threw a punch while looking in the other direction, which put Khan down. Since then he's fought another two fights against old men, so I can't say I've been impressed by him so far.
I think Matthysse has better power than Garcia and also has a better chin so I would expect him to win the fight. If Garcia wins this fight it would mean that he is seen as a ligit world class boxer and could even be considered close to the p4p top 10. It would mean that all the biggest fights are now available to him, and it would significantly raise his profile.
Compare KO Records. Garcia does have power. But he's only showed what he carries on 2 opponents. Matthysse has won more than half his fights by KO. He does swing pretty wild though. That's what I worry about. He throws a right and drops his left hand.
If Garcia beats Matthysse - I'll run through the streets of Dublin naked, with Christmas tree lights adorning my wedding tackle..!!
If Garcia knocks Matthysse out - I will do the same in any major city you care to nominate.
Matthysse would fight Mayweather next.
I'm taking Garcia in this fight. But it ain't gonna be easy though. But Mattysse can be beaten.
if he wins then he will remain champion. That simple.
I'm not really sure how to word it but basically, Garcia is definatley going to be viewed as the underdog in this fight, and I've not really been a fan of him at all because his dads a prick, dannys rap videos are gay as hell, and he beat up the ghost of morales to enter the big league.
However, despite the fact that he lost the first two rounds to khan I think it was impressive to finish him like that and he survived a tough fight after with a determined Judah so he deserves some credit.
The thing I do like about Danny is he has genuine KO power in that hook, he knows it's his show stopper punch and he clearly works on timing it and throws it beautifully. if he can catch matthysse with that shot then he may well win the fight.
Matthysse has been one of my favorite fighters since he first arrived on the scene but he does have a few weaknesses. At times he loads up on his hooks so much that he's off balance, and almost throws himself over. It's possible to time him with a good counter shot if you got the balls to try it.
Providing the fights gets made, do you think Danny has a shot and what will it mean for his career in his next few fights afterwards?
