A year ago I threw a surprise bday for my parents. It was on a week day so I planned for supper in the evening, however, in your case being a Saturday I might choose around lunch time depending on everyone's schedule. I invited immediate family like grandparents, your brothers and sisters or if you have a small family maybe your moms siblings if she has any and if not.. Her close friends. I just had immediate family which included 11 people.
For food I would probably choose your moms favorite or at least something you know she will love, same goes for the desert (deserts don't always have to be cakes, just something she loves.)
The ones you plan on inviting I would ask their suggestions on what to do. Also if you have an older sibling maybe they could get on it too. Hope this helps!
(I had barbecued chicken, veggies, potato salad, a couple others I can't remember, coconut cream pie, and chocolate mocha coffee cheese cake. It worked out great!)
P.s. If you have grandparents close by that you plan on inviting maybe they could bring something as a side dish?
My daughter cleaned the house for me (with her friend) and baked a German Chocolate cake for me. It was a terrific party. Cook something that she likes to eat. Or have cold cuts, cheese and crackers and cake with candles and drinks Invite a relative or two and a friend or two. Maybe make it a surprise. The day doesn't matter.
I'm young and want to throw my mom a surprise party in May. My dad will help but he is very busy. My bestie knows and has agreed to help me. Her birthday is on a Saturday and I just don't know when during the day to throw it?? Who to invite?? (I just want it to be a small party) food to make??? I never hosted a party for let alone a surprise party so PLEASE HELP MEEE
