How to throw a party?

You should have some snacks!! Like chips and snack food like that. If you want actual food I would go for pizza. Also have some drinks like bottles of beer in a cooler or something. You can just have that all at a table to the side. Along with a cake if you want it. It's about what you want. Cake isn't lame, as long as you want it. Have music and make sure the lights are low and theres places to sit as well as dance (because sometimes people like to take a break and sit). Also, for your birthday you could do something more chill with just a friend or two and hang out that can also be super fun! Just don't worry too much about it, and have fun!

Its not what you should or should not have its what you would like to do on YOUR birthday and the people that attend are the people that want to share your birthday with you.

Of course you have the obligation to making your guests comfortable and happy basically to have a good time.

The best way to organize a party is to start by choosing a theme. You already have done so.

The second thing you do is decide how many people by making a detailed guest list. This list will become your go to for everything! Invites, food, drink, party games, thank you gifts. You could even note the gifts you receive next to each guest so you know how much to spend when you need to get them a gift.

The third thing is to make a time line for your party and arrange all of the events around that time. Example 7 to 7:30 pm arrival. Serve drinks and snacks. etc.

This is the part where you will actually "spell out" exactly how the party will run.

You could ask a couple of people to help with the organization. Printing a time line helps. Also you could find ideas on line on how to organize the party. A good site is birthday party ideas . com

Enjoy.....

How about you serve "heavy hors d'oeuvres; Meatballs, Crudités, Shrimp, Deviled Eggs and Finger Sandwiches? Depending on your invitees, either a keg or bottles of decent wine - of if they're sophisticated enough, set up a martini bar.

I think a cake is great. The idea of you hosting your own birthday party is kind of sketchey. I'd go with either no gifts, or ask them to donate to your favorite charity in lieu of.

A party doesn't consist of the food an drink, it happens with the mix of people and the great conversations that ensue. If you've got a bunch shy friends, set a theme that leads to discussion and conversation (Elizabeth Warren 2016?).

Make sure you have plenty of cheap booze, and you will be all set. Oh, and make sure everyone invited is 21 or over, and they don't drive home drunk.

Drinks, snacks, and a cake sounds fine.

People should definitely sing to you! :)

So i ve never been you a "party" just your typical birthday party with family and friends and I've never been out to a club either (i have a very over protective parents) so i don't know how to plan a party or what goes on in one... So for my 21st birthday party I want to throw a black light party (neon glow party) I got the idea from teen wolf... the problem is i don't know how to plan is out I know im going to have drinks and snacks but should i also give out food? and should I have a cake (or is that lame) and if i should have cake should i have people sing happy birthday to me and give it out? and im going to have a DJ to pump up the party but what else should i have? i know this is a sorry question but i really do need help planing this party out thank you
